With a focus on connecting the holy trinity of Design, Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Startup and Software Technology Product companies, The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) today hosted the ‘Design4India DESIGN SUMMIT’, and its the second edition of Design Summit in Bengaluru. The DESIGN4INDIA Initiative is the result of the partnership between NASSCOM and Facebook. As lead partners of the Design4India Initiative, Facebook has been very committed to building design capabilities in Startup Ecosystem and nurturing entrepreneurship in India.
Software Technology Industry & Design experts from all corners of India took center stage to discuss a range of topics including Designing for a billion users, Service Design – Beyond the Screen – in the age of Digital, and more. The annual Summit hosted industry specific workshops that explore new ideas and methodologies around Designing for Mobile, sustainable design for businesses & interaction design.
The day-long Design Summit witnessed the presence of academic heads of India’s leading design schools, design chiefs of top corporations and startups, and leaders from the top design studios gathered at this Summit, including the likes of Ravi Gururaj, Member, NASSCOM Executive Council, Kabir Bedi, International Actor & Jury Member for the OSCARS, Geetha Narayanan, Founder Director, Srishti School of Art, Design & Technology, Abhimanyu Kulkarni, Creative Director, Philips Design, Peyush Agarwal, Global Strategic Design Director, Designit, Ramesh Kozhiserry, Sr Manager II – User Experience, @WAlmart Labs, and Unmesh Kulkarni, Director, User Experience, Honeywell.

In order to integrate User Experience and the Human Centric Design approach into the Startups’ DNA, NASSCOM has launched the Design4India initiative to impact the ecosystem pan India. Keeping in line with the tradition of showcasing and supporting Startups who have excelled in the field of software product design, the Design Summit curated product showcase of startups who have excelled in the field of design.
This year the Summit had its closing keynote addressed by renowned actor, philanthropist and Motivational speaker Kabir Bedi – A personality well known for his successful career in acting and storytelling. In addition to anecdotes about his life and career, Kabir shared interesting insights from Fashion and Entertainment Industry.
